The Family Circle Tennis Center has been named a "Top 50 Tennis Welcome Center for 2008" by the Tennis Industry Association and United States Tennis Association for the third consecutive year for delivering a variety of tennis programs to new and current players of all ages in efforts to increase participation in the game.

"The staff at the Family Circle Tennis Center has created a positive tennis experience for people in the Charleston area," says Jolyn de Boer, executive director of the Tennis Industry Association (TIA). "Tennis Welcome Centers serve a vital role in delivering tennis, and we are pleased to recognize these efforts with this award.”

The Family Circle Tennis Center was selected as a Top 50 Tennis Welcome Center for 2008 for its increased participation figures involving new and returning players, its support of industry programs and its community tennis development, among other criteria and requirements.

“We are very proud to have been recognized with this prestigious national award for three consecutive years,” commented Rob Eppelsheimer, Family Circle Tennis Center - Director, Facilities and Tennis Development. “As a public tennis facility, we are committed to promoting tennis as an affordable, life-long sport that everyone can enjoy, and this award reflects our dedication to growing the game of tennis in the Charleston area.”
