Win4Life students and program creator Leslie Allen joined forces with The Citadel Bulldogs at The Earle Tennis Center on Saturday, March 7 for the 3rd installment of the 2009 Charleston Win4Life program. Not only did the Bulldogs' men's tennis team give tennis instruction, they also gave the students a lesson on discipline and determination, two of the four life lessons on which founder Leslie Allen built this youth mentoring program. As students partnered with Citadel cadets, Allen reminded them to stay focused, stay disciplined and work hard to achieve their goals.
Win4Life is a program implemented through the Leslie Allen Foundation whose mission is to help young people expand their horizons through tennis and develop the life skills necessary for becoming productive citizens of the world. While the foundation's motto is “Tennis is more than just hitting a ball," the Win4Life program challenges students to use the 4D’s - desire, dedication, determination and discipline as a baseline for success.
