Cup History: When Venus won the 2004 Family Circle Cup title, not only did she end her 14-month title drought, she claimed her 30th career Sony Ericsson WTA tour title. When she defeated two-time champion Conchita Martinez in the finals (2-6, 6-2, 6-1), she became one of only four women to have won the Family Circle Cup in her debut appearance.

Career Overview: Has notched 36 WTA Tour singles titles and 9 WTA Tour doubles titles.Not to mentions her four career Wimbledon titles where she was lowest-ranked (No. 31) and lowest-seeded (No. 23) player to win Wimbledon. Holds six Grand Slam titles. Won Memphis in 2007, defeating top seed Shahar Peer in final, and Seoul reaching season-high ranking of No. 8. Holds 36 career Tour singles titles. Broke the US Open record for fastest women's serve with a 129 mph in 2007. Has been ranked No. 1 in the world on three different occasions.
