The 2008 Family Circle Cup has selected the Center for Women as its charity of choice for the third consecutive year.  As the only comprehensive women's development center in South Carolina, this important organization helps Lowcountry women succeed every day—professionally and personally.  Through their services, programs and events, they help women build better lives for themselves.  The Center for Women has reached more than 70,000 women since it was established in 1990, connecting thousands of women across the Tri-County area to professional sources for practical help by providing counseling, facilitating peer support groups, and making referrals.

The following activities and auctions were designed to raise money and awareness for the Center for Women.  The proceeds will fund many of this organization's important programs.

CFW Member Day Luncheon   (Thursday, April 17th)

The Center for Women receives a percentage of the 2008 Family Circle Cup official tournament program sales, so pick one up for only $5 and support this important organization.  Programs are sold on-site by Center for Women volunteers, and come with a complimentary official tournament poster commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Family Circle Cup. 

7th Annual “It’s in the Bag” Purse Silent Auction & Reception    (Thursday, April 24th)

Dunlop is the Official Ball of the Family Circle Cup, the same ball used at the French Open.  In fact, this year's tournament balls are adorned with a special Family Circle Cup 35th Anniversary Logo, and these tournament balls were produced in the same production run as the balls made for the French Open.  At the conclusion of the singles final, three match-used balls will be gathered and one will be autographed by the finalist & champion.  All three balls will be placed in their original can and auctioned to the highest bidder.
