2006 Tennis Block Party
presented by The Daniel Island News
The Family Circle Tennis Center hosted a Tennis Block Party presented by The Daniel Island News in August in an effort to make the Charleston community aware of the many tennis opportunities that are available to them at this public tennis facility. The Family Circle Tennis Center is committed to growing the game of tennis in the Charleston community, and this free event showcased the many tennis activities and opportunities that people of all ages can enjoy for a lifetime.
Despite on-and-off light rain in the morning, over 150 people enjoyed a day of tennis games & drills for all ages at one of America’s premier public tennis facilities. Whole families came out to participate in Cardio Tennis Classes, Ball Machine Activities, King & Queen of the Court activities, Fast Serve Contest, and a Kid’s Tennis Carnival & Obstacle course. Throughout the event, everyone enjoyed a variety of snacks and food, prizes, giveaways, a raffle for a trip to the 2007 US Open, and many more fun events as they signed up for junior and adult tennis lessons and learned of the many affordable membership options that exist at the Tennis Center.
