The best way to view Charleston is on foot. For the adventurous, there

Waterfront Park just off East Bay Street, a short distance
from the Ansonborough Inn. The Waterfront Park
reminds the visitor of a turn-of-the century park
with it's gated entrance, brick walkways, and wrought-iron
benches. As you stroll through the gates of the
park, you'll step out of the city and into a very quiet reserve.
The park offers something for both young and old. From the 400 foot
pier you can watch the great ships as they pass through Charleston
Harbour. Or watch as people come and go while sitting on the
swings under the pavilions. Or dance in the water in one of the park's two
fountains!
